Maka Bucha Day

It's a big buddist day known as "Maka Bucha Day". In history, today was the day when all buddhist monks came to meet each others without any appointments.   It's like the World Congress, but the difference is those who participated in World Congress were called for the meeting.

Traditionally, Thai people would do religion ceremony for instance, gave food to monks at the temple nearby in the morning, visited famous temple to pray in front of big Buddha images statued in the middle of the temple, and walked around the temple at nigh by carrying flowers, a lighted candle, and three joysticks.

As I am a buddist, so I did practices as other did by giving food to monks in the morning, walking around the temple at night with flowers, a candle, and joysticks as I used to every year.  This year, I visit the Wang Thong Temple in Wang Thong District, Phitsanulok province.  After making merit, I walked inside the temple I found an important evidence which was written on the temple's wall.  I read on the wall and I just realised that this temple named "Wat Wang Thong Wararam" by the King Bumipol (King Rama 9th), the recent King.  He and Queen Sirikit took royal visit here in order to making opening ceremony for the temple on the date of 12 th, March, B.C. 2519.
